What does Coillte data look like? Some examples, and how to make an AIE request for forestry related data to Coillte

AIE

Received all Coillte mapping data for Cavan and Leitrim

Uploaded example of each document type to illustrate format and what actually is in each file

Files types are:

  1. Habitat maps,
  2. Establishment files,
  3. Estate Maintenance files,
  4. Harvesting files
  5. Roading files

If you need the rest of the files, please ask, there are lots

To request AIE on your local Coillte forestry you can contact info@coillte.ie

Simply note you are requesting the data under the AIE Regs, and ask for the most recent documents as above for the sites you are interested in. If you are unsure of the site name, just give a GPS location or otherwise identify the site/s

If you do not get a response within 4 weeks, email Deirdre.Coleman@coillte.ie to request an AIE Internal Review (another 4 weeks), and if you still do not get a response email info@oic.ie

When making a request for information under the AIE Regulations you are required to:

  • state that the application is being made under the AIE Regulations and submit it in writing or email
  • provide your contact details and
  • state, in terms that are as specific as possible, the environmental information required, and specify the form and manner of access desired

Normally you will be notified of the decision on your request within 1 month of its receipt, at each stage, so the process can take 12 weeks (or more).

Note: if you find useful environmental data, please consider forwarding a copy for posting on the site.

Public bodies are not required to publish AIE Disclosure Logs, and many AIE requests never make it into the public domain
