Carlow Point-to-Point want to remove boundaries because of the extreme safety risk to the public and horses
DAFM does not seek any Risk Assessment before screening out the project.
No explanation as to how they can be a safety issue given as they do not form part of the Point-to-Point course.
No AA despite being 240m and at a higher elevation than an SAC (same River Sub Basin so excess surface waters will drain to the SAC).

There is a review of the Regulations under way – prompted by pressure from Hedgerows Ireland (Tipperary). Outcome due at the end of the 1st Quarter 2024.
