AIE to Irish Water: list of Irish Water locations of emergency overflows on the sewer network to rivers, and how these are activated in the event of mechanical failure, as an example see Graine_020

AIE 22/01/22

“With regard to the Gaine_020, the mass balance calculations demonstrate that the primary discharge of D0501-01 agglomeration is not significantly impacting water quality in the Gaine_020 water body and is not deemed a significant pressure on the monitoring point Downstream of TP TPEFF3200D0510SW001 (RS26G010270). There are no SWOs on the network as the sewer and storm networks are separate but there are two emergency overflows on the sewer network which only activate in the event of mechanical failure. An update will be sought from Irish Water to see if this infrastructure is alarmed.”
