DAFM has provided administrative guidance as to situations where consent is not required for forest road works. There are no minimum thresholds in law so it is important to establish the basis for DAFM’s guidance. Is that guidance is consistent with the requirements of European Law ? A significant amount of forest road works are being undertaken without the necessary environmental screening.
