Under the FOI Act to request a comprehensive listing of the name, phone number and email for all FOI Officers across all public bodies subject to FOI
For context, one of the challenges facing applicants is to find the right person. Often there is only a generic email, and the actual FOI Officer is difficult to locate via phone or by online search. With public bodies who do not confirm FOI requests, it is impossible for an applicant to know if the request was received by an actual person. This is particularly challenging within local authorities and some semi states. RTK would consider a regularly updated FOI.GOV.ie as a suitable platform to track FOI contacts in public authorities, but many of the records are dated or incomplete
